FDA Consumer Health Information - Sept. 30 Webinar: Prescription Drug Shortages

SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In 2010, there were a record number of prescription drug shortages. In 2011, FDA continues to see an increasing number of shortages, especially those involving older "sterile injectables"—medicines given by injection or intravenously to patients in the hospital.

An FDA expert will discuss the extent of the current drug shortage and the importance of communication among FDA, drug manufacturers, health professionals, and the public in helping to reduce the shortages' impact on public health.
