FDA Approved, Non-Invasive Laser Is A Success in Trigeminal Neuralgia Pain Treatment

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Laser Med Center, which specializes in treating Trigeminal Neuralgia, has received an FDA approval for its revolutionary laser device. This is a non-invasive alternative to surgery, which treats pain through nerve tissue regeneration.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is a terribly painful condition of the trigeminal nerve in the face. The trigeminal nerve (the fifth cranial nerve or CN5) is primarily a sensory nerve and is responsible for facial sensation.  Laser Med Center has had a great deal of success treating the pain associated with Classic and Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia as well as Post-herpetic Neuralgia and Atypical Facial Pain.

"My personal experience with TN began in 2005. I associated the first painful episode, which lasted for 6 months, with a ruptured eardrum and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). After working with my neurologist on different medications, the pain was greatly reduced. November of 2010, the TN pain level began to increase severely. To mediate the pain, I upped my intake of Trileptal, returning to around 600 mg/day. After a lengthy hospitalization due to the decreased sodium levels from the medication, I knew I needed to find a solution."
