Date:11/18/2013

NEW YORK, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. ET/7:00 a.m. PT and Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. ET/7:00 a.m. PT, CPhI PharmaEvolution.com will host two live interactive video chats on Lean and Operational Excellence practices. Thomas Friedli, a professor at the University of St. Gallen's Institute of Technology Management, will be the special guest for the first chat. William Botha, an expert on Lean and Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques, will speak during the second program.

Rapid change and increased complexity have made it more important, and more challenging, than ever to drive operational excellence within the global pharmaceutical industry. The guest speakers will explore how some of pharma's most effective managers are embracing the principles of Deming, Juran, and Toyota to create continuous improvement cultures.

On Monday, Nov. 25, Thomas Friedli, a professor at the University of St. Gallen's Institute of Technology Management, will share examples of Lean manufacturing leadership and best-practices in the pharmaceutical industry, including tips on how to support and lead these efforts. He will also discuss his new book on this topic.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, William Botha, who has held senior management positions and has led Kaizen and other initiatives at Baxter and other companies within and outside the pharma industry, will share best-practices for creating a sustainable change culture, projecting leadership values and vision, and communicating and adapting change tools to your operations.
