Endovascular Forum and GEST Set Out on a Shared Venture to Bring the Highest Level of Embolization-based Scientific and Technical Education, Results, and Relevance for Patient Care

BOSTON, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Endovascular Forum (EVF), an IC Sciences company, announces today a new partnership with the Global Embolization Symposium and Technologies (GEST), and the launch of a dynamic online case-based interactive forum.

This endeavor is in line with the GEST mission and aim of bringing practitioners the highest level of scientific and technical education about the use of new materials and devices, their results, relevance for patient care, imaging, and to fine tune existing skills and expertise in these areas in the most innovative and dynamic method possible.

Embolization is one of the few areas in endovascular therapy that draws together all practitioners, regardless of their individual subspecialty practices. Obviously, for the interventional oncologist, embolization is the sine qua non. However, embolization spans peripheral vascular disease, trauma, visceral artery and venous interventions, pediatric and neurointerventional therapies, women's health, aortic disease, vascular malformations, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver disease, non-vascular procedures, cell-based therapies, etc.

In turn embolotherapy has become a central part of daily Interventional Radiology work. Embolization indications have substantially increased over the last decade and continue to do so. Fibroid embolization, trauma, and GI-hemorrhage are only a few areas manifesting this fast increase. Additionally, treatment of vascular malformations is fully dependent on embolization techniques.
