Encinitas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center First in Southern California to Deploy Voice Technology for Outcomes-Based Care
Date:1/25/2011

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Vocollect Healthcare Systems, Inc. (www.accunurse.com and www.blog.accunurse.com) announces that Encinitas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, based in Encinitas, California, and part of Covenant Care family of facilities, has deployed AccuNurse® voice technology in its skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The implementation marks a first in the Southern California region for facilities deploying voice for the care of its residents and to prepare for 2014 reform in the continuing care continuum of the healthcare industry.

Covenant Care expects the investment in voice to take care to new levels of performance by enabling more proactive care, increasing productivity of its direct care team and providing more time for direct resident care. By giving caregivers the ability to access resident care needs on demand, simply by talking, enhance care team collaboration with Silent Paging™ and respond faster to resident needs, Encinitas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will achieve numerous performance and reimbursement gains, including enabling higher levels of staff efficiency and satisfaction while increasing quality outcomes, eliminating paperwork, and achieving compliance.

According to Joseph Franz, Executive Director of Encinitas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the decision to implement AccuNurse was made with its care mission and commitment to quality in mind. “AccuNurse is doing a tremendous amount in the industry to drive decision-support data in real time so health trends can be identified and changes can be made while the patient is in the facility,” he said. “This supports our quality of care mission – to be proactive, especially on behalf of our patients and residents. For our clinical team, they now have an easier and more accurate way to document right at the point of care. W
