Elekta's MOSAIQ Far Ahead of Contenders in Black Book Rankings User Survey of EMR Vendors

ATLANTA, June 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Elekta's MOSAIQ® oncology electronic medical record (EMR) – the first and only oncology-specific comprehensive EMR to receive complete certification under the HITECH Act – has propelled Elekta to the top rank overall among 20 comprehensive oncology / hematology EMR vendors in the annual Black Book Rankings for 2011. The four end-to-end service lines defining a "comprehensive ambulatory EMR vendor" were: electronic health records and document management; practice management and revenue cycle management; e-prescribing; and patient accessibility.

In the third quarter of 2010, Black Book Rankings (a division of Brown-Wilson Group, Inc.), surveyed 576 qualified users, implementers and administrators of oncology / hematology physician practices in the focused Black Book study of the top 20 EMR vendors. Eighteen Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), or criteria of operational excellence, are employed, scored on each respective vendor by client type, and ranked on a 0-10 scale per KPI.

Elekta achieved a nearly perfect score on 13 of the 18 KPIs (avg. 9.84). The EMR vendor receiving the number two overall rank in the survey achieved top marks in only two of the 18 KPIs. Elekta's top KPIs included (were):
