In July 2010, a joint meeting took place between the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which marks the beginning of discussions between these lead agencies about how to use the power of broadband to improve health care and discuss ways to promote investment and innovation in health technology by streamlining government processes.

"As an innovator of wireless patient monitoring solutions such as the Infinity OneNet, a shared infrastructure deployment that integrates patient monitoring systems into the existing hospital network, we are excited to see that these discussions are taking place between the FCC and FDA," states Arno Wolters, CEO and President, Draeger Medical, Inc. "We believe it demonstrates a deeper commitment by both of these key organizations to work together, as well as with companies like Draeger, in efforts to support the enhancement and reduction to healthcare costs for all Americans through the more pervasive deployment of wireless technologies using standard-based wireless technologies."
