The featured speaker for this webcast is Dr. Elizabeth Mansfield, the Director of the Personalized Medicine Staff at the FDA's Office of In Vitro Diagnostic Device Evaluation and Safety (OIVD). Dr. Mansfield will provide insight into the FDA's companion diagnostic device guidance.

"You do not want to miss this important webcast on companion diagnostics, an area that will influence the direction of the IVD industry for many years," stated Richard Park, Editor-in-Chief, IVD Technology. "Dr. Mansfield will discuss the FDA's rationale for its policy and the labeling recommendations for both therapeutic and diagnostics devices."

Mansfield will also cover the definition of a companion diagnostic and the types of IVDs that would and would not be considered companion diagnostics.

After her presentation, Dr. Mansfield will participate in a live Q&A session, moderated by Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and join in the discussion about the regulation of companion diagnostics.

The webcast will take place on Thursday, November 10 at 9:00 a.m. PT (12:00 p.m. ET).  There is a small registration fee to attend.  The event will be archived for six months on the IVD Technology website and in the Qmed webcast archive.
