In this capacity, Garland will focus on increasing the digital advertising and educational content opportunities available on the PatientPad and launch the company's New York sales office.

Garland spent the majority of his career at The Weather Channel, where digital advertising drove the majority share of revenues. As senior vice president of advertising sales, he developed and executed strategies that increased The Weather Channel's revenue by 552 percent over a nine year period. His additional responsibilities included leading a 75-person sales force, opening the company's Los Angeles sales office, and creating trade advertising and promotional campaigns resulting in an annual revenue growth of 36 percent in the targeted advertiser categories. Garland was also integral in the launch of Weather.com, the network's award-winning website, as well as The Travel Channel.
Following The Weather Channel, Garland helped propel the growth and probability of five other digital media start-ups, including The Tennis Channel, where he served as chief operating officer, and Prime Point Media, the first national out-of-home network of phone kiosk advertising locations. Garland also built one of the nation's top 20 largest sports web sites at HighSchoolSports.Net, which was later sold to Gannett.
