Detroit Medical Center Chooses CareTech Solutions' Document Imaging System

TROY, Mich., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- CareTech Solutions, an information technology and Web products and services provider for more than 150 U.S. hospitals, announced today that the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) (www.dmc.org) has selected the company's document imaging solution, iDoc™, for the eight-facility integrated delivery system's patient financial services operation.

"As the largest healthcare provider in southeast Michigan, DMC's Patient Financial Services has been handling nearly four million documents a year, with a need to handle more," said Candace Scott, vice president of Revenue Cycle for the DMC. "That's a lot of information going through our system, and the former document scanning system just couldn't keep up. Document imaging technology is a fundamental workflow tool for our processes, and with CareTech's iDoc, we get a hosted solution that interfaces easily with our enterprise processes and systems – not to mention it's easy to use and quick to implement."

The iDoc application and client data are housed in a CareTech Solutions SAS 70 Type 2 accredited secure data center. CareTech is responsible for all application maintenance, database maintenance, application upgrades, third-party product support, technical support, disaster recovery, system backups, hardware upgrades, and system monitoring.
