Le tourisme médical, l'une des industries internationales les plus dynamiques, s'est considérablement développé en 2013. Avec l'ambition de se spécialiser dans ce domaine, la Pologne a rejoint le groupe des pays actifs depuis plusieurs années au sein du secteur du tourisme médical.

Le programme visant à faire du tourisme médical l'une des spécialités de la Pologne à l'exportation est mis en œuvre par le ministère de l'Économie depuis mars 2012. D'ici la fin 2013, la première moitié de ce projet planifié sur trois ans sera achevée. La phase initiale était axée sur la création de ressources marketing et promotionnelles, plutôt que sur des déplacements internationaux. Cette démarche a été accompagnée d'annonces publiées dans la presse étrangère et de rencontres avec des partenaires d'affaires potentiels et des journalistes invités en Pologne.

Significativement différente, l'année 2014 sera consacrée à la réalisation de nombreux voyages nationaux et internationaux. Plus de 40 établissements médicaux participeront à des foires et à des missions commerciales dans sept pays cibles (l'Allemagne, la Russie, les pays scandinaves, le Royaume-Uni et les États-Unis), ainsi qu'à des foires commerciales à Dubaï. Les missions commerciales organisées en 2014 en Allemagne, au Royaume-Uni, au Danemark, en Suède et en Norvège comprendront pour chacun de ces pays des réunions avec les entreprises nationales intéressées par l'établissement de relations d'affaires au sein du secteur du tourisme médical. Comme en 2013, des annonces seront diffusées l'année prochaine dans des publication
