Cleveland Clinic's 2012 Medical Innovation Summit Highlights Orthopaedic Technologies

CLEVELAND, Aug. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cleveland Clinic's 10th Annual Medical Innovation Summit – Innovative to the Bone! will bring together more than 1,000 executives, investors, entrepreneurs and clinicians Oct. 29 to 31 to assess the state of healthcare innovation and share insights on the hottest orthopaedic technologies. The meeting will be capped by a presentation of the "Top 10 Innovations" that will have a breakthrough impact on healthcare next year.

Registration is now open for the summit, a three-day gathering that will feature detailed discussions with healthcare leaders, presentations by top medical innovators, and demonstrations of new orthopaedic therapies. Speakers will explore: 

  • What is the outlook on medical innovation in light of the affirmation of the Affordable Care Act?
  • Is this a bull or bear market for orthopaedic innovations?
  • What outlook do top CEOs have for the industry?
  • What devices are on the horizon to detect and protect athletes from traumatic brain injuries?
  • How will healthcare IT fully utilize "Big Data" to improve care, decrease cost and enhance safety?

On the summit's final day, Cleveland Clinic will reveal its "Top 10" Innovations for 2013 – breakthrough technologies that will have the biggest impact on healthcare next year. The Clinic's Michael Roizen, M.D., Chief Wellness Officer and James Merlino M.D., Chief Patient Experience Officer, and a panel of 10 of the Clinic's physician leaders will present the highly anticipated list.
