Date:10/11/2011

ELLICOTT CITY, Md., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Christine K. Pierre, president and founder of RxTrials, Inc., has been named a "Professional Woman of the Year" by the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), VIP Division. The honor recognizes Pierre's "outstanding leadership and commitment" within her profession, according to the New York-based network community for professional women.

Pierre founded RxTrials, Inc., in 1994, and still leads the network of premier clinical research sites, which has conducted more than 1,000 studies in a wide range of therapeutic areas.

Known internationally for her experience and expertise in clinical research site management and patient recruitment and retention, Pierre works with partners in the industry to complete studies in a timely and efficient manner and deliver quality data to study sponsors.

RxTrials, Inc., also is the parent company of RxTrials Institute, a leading national clinical research consultant and education provider. RxTrials Institute each year presents the Site Solutions Summit, a top networking and business management conference that is unique in the industry. Pierre is an in-demand trainer, speaker and author, educating hundreds of research professionals every year on best practices and business success.

Pierre was named one of the "100 Most Inspiring People" in the life sciences industry by PharmaVOICE magazine in 2009. She also has been recognized as one of the top female business professionals in Maryland, where RxTrials, Inc., is headquartered.

"It is a genuine honor to be selected as a Professional Woman of the Year by such a prestigious women's business organization," Pierre says. "I share NAPW's goals to educate and empower women and promote the healthy exchange of ideas. My own business philosophy is one of collaboration for strong and productive relationships."

According to NAPW, only 1% of its 180,000 women members are selected for the Professional Woman of the Year honor. Pierre was selected to represent her state for 2011/2012.
