CenterWatch Releases State of the Clinical Trials Industry 2008 - A Key Industry Resource for Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
Date:5/15/2008

BOSTON, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- CenterWatch, a publishing and information services company focused on market research about clinical trials, finds that investigative sites are required to learn multiple EDC (electronic data capture) systems. More than 75% of respondents to a recent CenterWatch survey indicated that they had been trained on three or more EDC systems. In addition, a majority indicated that the effectiveness of their EDC training had improved.

State of the Clinical Trials Industry 2008 is a comprehensive resource that examines all aspects of the clinical trials industry based on proprietary research conducted by CenterWatch and resulting from analyses of industry surveys, physician and patient surveys; and surveys of investigative sites both in the U.S. and overseas. Data and research are presented on the following topics:

-- Site perception of sponsors and CROs globally

-- EDC uptake and usage

-- Patient experience in clinical trials

-- Major causes of trial delays and costs

-- Investigator concerns about trial conduct

-- Industry data on sales and market size

-- Worldwide regulatory submissions and approvals

"Each year researchers, biotech and pharmaceutical executives, CRO executives and investment analysts anticipate the release of the new edition of State of Clinical Trial Industry. It is a key resource that helps them track changes and understand key trends with analysis and insight into the global challenges in the industry," said Mary Jo Lamberti, PhD, Director of Market Research for CenterWatch.

State of the Clinical Trials Industry 2008 contains over 600 charts, graphs, and tables, a review of the top clinical research stories of 2007 as reported by the editorial staff of the CenterWatch newsletters; as well as drug pipeline information and updates on specific disease areas. Much of the data is based on CenterWatch's proprietary clinical research benchmarking surveys
