CVS/pharmacy Continues Digital "MoneyTrashers" Campaign, Enlists Shoppers to Pledge to "Stop Money Trashing"
Date:9/29/2011

WOONSOCKET, R.I., Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CVS/pharmacy's ExtraCare Rewards program, the largest retail rewards program with more than 69 million active cardholders, today announced the continuation of its successful "MoneyTrashers" campaign with the launch of several fun and useful digital resources on CVS.com and the CVS/pharmacy Facebook page. To encourage shoppers to redeem their ExtraBucks® Rewards, just in time for the October 1 quarterly rewards payout, CVS/pharmacy has unveiled a variety of new playful videos and is encouraging customers to take a pledge to "Stop Money Trashing."

Starting on October 1, ExtraCare cardholders begin receiving their quarterly ExtraBucks® Rewards, which are automatic savings each shopper earns just for scanning their ExtraCare card during shopping trips throughout the year. These quarterly rewards are paid out four times a year and can be used like "free CVS money" to buy nearly anything in the store. Since the launch of the MoneyTrashers campaign this summer, which also featured a re-design of the ExtraBucks® Rewards that appear on customers' receipts, redemptions have reached an all-time high as more shoppers than ever before are taking advantage of the savings available to them.

"We have always been proud that tens of millions of loyal CVS/pharmacy customers redeem their ExtraBucks® Rewards and have made ExtraCare the most successful retail rewards program in the U.S.," said Melissa Studzinski, vice president of customer relationship management for CVS/pharmacy. "However, our goal is to help even more customers realize how easy it is to save money by taking advantage of the rewards available. Since launching our MoneyTrashers campaign, the number of ExtraCare members redeeming their rewards has reached new heights and it is clear the message is resonating with customers and people are having a lot of fun wi
