"Wir haben nun die fünfjährige Nachbeobachtung in drei randomisierten, kontrollierten Studien abgeschlossen. Diese Langzeitstudie zeigt insbesondere die klinische Evidenz der Langzeitsicherheit und -wirksamkeit, auf die die Asthma-Fachwelt gewartet hat. Ich bin überzeugt, dass Patienten mit schwerem Asthma nun Zugang zu dieser Therapie haben sollten."

Der Langzeitnutzen der Bronchialen Thermoplastie, wie eine Reduktion schwerer Exazerbationen und Notaufnahmen, stehen in Einklang mit den erklärten Zielen der Asthma-Kontrolle, wie sie im National Asthma Education and Prevention Programme (NAEPP) definiert sind.
