BodyMedia Teams with Sleepio & A.R.O. to Support Sleep & Life Improvements
Date:5/28/2013

SAN DIEGO, May 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Body monitoring pioneer BodyMedia today announced new partnerships with Sleepio, creator of an online sleep improvement program, and A.R.O., provider of a recently launched lifelogging app called Saga, that utilizes physiological data captured by BodyMedia FIT body monitors to equip consumers with actionable insights into their health.

In the Sleepio partnership, BodyMedia armband wearers have the option to automatically sync sleep  information collected by armband sensors with the Sleepio app to assist the app's virtual sleep coach in introducing techniques for achieving a good night's sleep. The integration eliminates the need for users to keep sleep diaries and enter the information manually, enabling Sleepio to better tailor the program to the individual.

In the A.R.O. partnership, BodyMedia armband wearers have the option to automatically import BodyMedia data on calorie burn, exercise intensity, steps taken and sleep duration and efficiency into A.R.O.'s Saga lifelogging app to aid in the setting of personal improvement goals.

"With 160 million wearable body monitors expected to be sold in the consumer and medical markets annually over the next few years, people are swimming in physiological data collected by monitor sensors, but the information is typically silo'd in an app on the consumer's computer and/or mobile phone. Our goal is to combine our data with information from other sources to identify patterns that can aid in predicting and managing certain conditions," said BodyMedia CEO Christine Robins . "These two new partnerships mark a new chapter in the use of sensor data that paves the way for providing new tools to help consumers better manage their health."

Both integrations will be demonstrated at BodyMedia's Demo Station in the Pavilion
