Blue Belt Technologies berichtet über erste unikondyläre Knieersatz-OP mit NavioPFS in Großbritannien

PITTSBURGH, 7. November 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Belt Technologies, Inc. hat bekannt gegeben, dass Herr Alberto Gregori am 26. Oktober im Hairmyres Hospital (Schottland) die erste unikondyläre Knieersatz-OP mit NavioPFS™ in Großbritannien durchgeführt hat. Das OP-System NavioPFS repräsentiert eine neue Generation intelligenter chirurgischer Instrumente mit robotischer Steuerung. Blue Belt Technologies hat den Eingriff erstmalig im Juli 2012 in Pellenberg, Belgien durchgeführt und setzt seine geschäftliche Expansion in ganz Europa und nun auch in GB fort.

„Das System arbeitete einwandfrei und sorgte für akkurate Platzierung und Ausrichtung der Prothese, was eines unserer Hauptziele bei jeder Knieersatz-OP ist", sagte Herr Gregori vom Hairmyres Hospital.

Herr Gregori führte weiter aus, „Wir setzten bereits seit gut 11 Jahren mit Erfolg Navigationssysteme zur optimalen Implantation totaler Knieprothesen ein, aber mit dem NavioPFS sind wir einen Schritt weiter gegangen und konnten die Präparation des Knochens mit der Planung und Ausrichtung zu einem nahtlosen Prozess im OP zusammenfassen."

Für die Behandlung von Patienten mit medialer Arthritis bietet das NavioPFS-System CT-freie intraoperative Registrierung und Planung zusammen mit dem proprietären Navio™-Handstück, einem Präzisionsinstrument für genaue Knochenpräparation.
