Bio-Ess Laboratories to Present on Increasing Antibody Titer Without Impacting Glycosylation at The Bioprocessing Summit

EWING, N.J., Aug. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bio-Ess Laboratories, LLC Chief Science Officer, Dr. Adam Elhofy, will be discussing mechanisms to increase antibody titer and present new data on Cell-Ess® Universal Titer Boost at the 9th annual Bioprocessing Summit in Boston, MA August 21-25.  The Bioprocessing Summit convenes more than 1,000 international bioprocess professionals to share practical solutions for today's bioprocess challenges.

Cell-Ess Universal Titer Boost and Optimizer

Cell-Ess is the world's first universal titer boost and enhancer that works across a wide range of media systems.  Cell-Ess used as a feed improves consistency in glycan patterns while increasing protein titer by 20-50% compared to control in various previously optimized cell lines and media schemes.  The increase is observed in glass shake flasks, single-use Wave Bioreactors™, and ambr® cell culture systems.  New data to be presented by Dr. Elhofy indicates that Cell-Ess improves glycosylation consistency and complexity in addition to improving titer.

Dr. Elhofy will discuss bioprocessing challenges and present data during his talk titled "Improved Antibody Quality and Consistency in CHO Cells Using a Novel Media Supplement" on Wednesday, August 23rd at 11:15 am.  He will also present a poster entitled "Glycolytic Complexity and Pattern Consistency can be Improved by Using a Novel Supplement and Feed" at poster #B11 on Wednesday and Thursday.  Bio-Ess Laboratories will be exhibiting Cell-Ess and the non-fixative tissue preservation media Clin-Ess® at Booth #402.

"Numerous studies by Bio-Ess and others has shown that Cell-Ess increases monoclonal antibody titer without increasing cells," says Dr. Elhofy.  "Our new data shows that Cell-Ess also improves glycosylation consistency and can increase higher order glycoforms, which is vital for companies concerned with critical quality attributes."

"The Bioprocessing Summit brings together leaders in the bioprocessing community to discuss challenges and future outlook in the production of biologics," says Allan Weber, CEO for Bio-Ess.  "We are honored to sponsor this pivotal event yet again this year and share our insights with industry leaders."
