Berlin Packaging, Sanner USA Partner To Sell New Sanner 360 degree Desiccant Capsule In U.S.

CHICAGO and BENSHEIM, Germany, July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Berlin Packaging, a leading full-service supplier of plastic, glass and metal containers and closures, and Sanner GmbH, a manufacturer of high-quality plastic packaging solutions for pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products, today announced an exclusive distribution agreement enabling Berlin to sell Sanner's new 360 degree Desiccant Capsules in the U.S. The move brings the 360 degree Capsule, which provides continuous moisture adsorption in any position, to a significantly broader U.S. customer base.

Sanner USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Sanner GmbH, will continue to serve its existing U.S. accounts and will work in partnership with Berlin to develop new sales opportunities across the United States.

Sanner's 360 degree Desiccant Capsule is a true innovation in the desiccant category. Desiccants, typically sold in canister, capsule or sachet forms, are used to capture moisture and help maintain a specific climatic profile in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packages. The 360 degree Capsule's patent-pending, breakthrough cylinder design adsorbs moisture on all sides, regardless of its position in a package, thanks to its extremely fine external grid structure. The distinctive shape also differentiates the capsule from tablets, helping those with impaired vision to avoid ingesting the desiccant by mistake.

Sanner GmbH is a leader in desiccant technology. Since the debut of the 360 degree Capsule in May of this year, Sanner has seen strong interest in the product across Europe, the Pacific Rim and the U.S.

"This is an exceptional opportunity for Sanner to work together with Berlin, a company with extremely strong penetration in our chosen U.S. markets," said Holger Frank, CEO of Sanner. "Having the sales and marketing resources of Berlin Packaging behind the 360 degree Capsule will allow us to reach a much larger potential group of customers in North America."

"Striking this exclusive agreement with Sanner, one of the world's leading providers of desiccant packaging solutions, will broaden our product portfolio and further improve our ability to meet customer needs," said Rich Chapman, VP Supply Chain at Berlin Packaging. "The 360 degree Capsule not only is a more cost-effective alternative to conventional desiccant canisters, but it also outperforms anything on the market. We're excited to be able to offer the 360 degree Desiccant Capsule to our customers."

Berlin Packaging has been providing containers and closures to pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and healthcare product manufacturers for over 50 years. The company has a highly experienced staff of packaging consultants versed in all FDA guidelines impacting these industries; moreover, Berlin takes pride in meeting the highest standards of quality for products in these demanding industries.
