McLeod was formerly Director of Business Development with Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort for six years, where his strategic vision is credited with improving many different parts of the organization, including new information technologies and streamlined financial systems.

"John is the perfect person to join Bend Research at this time," said Rod Ray, Chief Executive Officer of Bend Research. "Over the last few years we've been changing our business model to one that works with multiple clients. Now that the transition has been successfully completed, we have turned our attention to strategic growth. John has the financial management skills and insights we need to move the company forward."

In addition to being a member of the management team, McLeod will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and information technology functions within the company.

McLeod is originally from Sydney, Australia, and lived in Europe and Asia before moving to the United States. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Macquarie University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of New England (both in Australia). McLeod is a certified public accountant and is active in community organizations. He currently serves on the board of Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC), and was formerly the tourism representative to Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO).

"Bend Research is at a very exciting point in its history and I am looking forward to contributing to the success and growth of another great Central Oregon company," said McLeod. "And the view of the Cascades from my office in Tumalo is almost as good as it was from Mount Bachelor."
