Bench International Adds Catherine Balin to Executive Team
Date:7/23/2012

LOS ANGELES, July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bench International, a global, milestone-based, performance-driven executive recruiting and consulting firm serving the life sciences industry, today announced that Catherine (Cathy) Balin is rejoining the firm as a senior vice president. She will help lead Bench's retained executive search and strategic human resources consulting activities.

Balin has more than three decades of experience with talent identification and human resources strategic planning in industries including healthcare and financial services. Most recently, she has been a vice president for EXTTI, Incorporated, a California-based human resources consulting firm. There, she serves as a human resource consultant for a variety of industries, including global life sciences. Prior to EXTTI, Balin worked with Bench for 11 years. During that time, she helped the firm establish long-term relationships with life sciences companies and brought unique talent to the sector.

"Cathy is rejoining Bench at a time when the life sciences sector is undergoing a transformation and desperately needs agile leaders who are committed to new ways of thinking," said Denise (DeeDee) DeMan, chairman and chief executive officer of Bench. "I have no doubt that Cathy's world-class executive recruiting and human resources consulting expertise will be invaluable to our clients. We're thrilled to welcome Cathy back to our global team."

"Bench prides itself on quality, commitment, and ethics," said Balin. "These are all things I am personally and professionally dedicated to, so rejoining the Bench team makes perfect sense. I look forward to contributing to the firm's continued growth and success."

Balin holds a graduate certificate from the Joint International Executive Management Program of Harvard University and the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and a bachelor's degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Human Resource Management from San Diego State University.
