Beating Blood Clots after Joint Replacement

  • A family history of blood clots
  • A genetic predisposition to blood clots, such as protein-deficient
  • Preventing a DVT is a complex process and as with any surgery, the patient and orthopaedic surgeon should assess what method of treatment will work for the best interest of the individual patient.

    Note: This topic will be the focus of a Media Briefing entitled: "Beating Blood Clots and Deciphering DVT Prophylaxis: What the Patient Needs to Know" on Thursday, February 26, in the Sands Expo Center, Venetian Hotel, Level One, Room 904 at 9:00 AM.
