Basis Announces Advisory Board Members from Medicine, Gaming and Social Networking

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BASIS Science, Inc., creators of the Basis™ B1 band, today announced the appointment of an advisory board that includes medical, social and gaming luminaries including Kevin Colleran, Charles and Kai Huang, and Daniel Kraft MD.  Basis also announced it has hired Chris Verplaetse to join the company's executive team as vice president of device development.

Due to be launched later this year, the Basis B1 band is the world's first connected heart rate and health tracker wearable on the wrist.  Convenient and customizable, the multi-sensor Basis B1 band continuously collects data like heart rate, calories burned, physical activity and sleep patterns. It links to a personal online dashboard where users can easily view performance, share data, earn rewards, and engage with the Basis community.

The new Basis advisory team includes Kevin Colleran, long-time executive at Facebook and one of its first ten employees; Kai and Charles Huang, co-founders of RedOctane and creators of Guitar Hero; Patrick McGill, global corporate development, media and entertainment specialist; Daniel Kraft, MD, a Stanford and Harvard trained physician and innovator who chairs the Medicine track for Singularity University and its FutureMed Program; and Jeff Rosenthal along with his co-founders of entrepreneur organization Summit Series.

Prior to that he supported leading brands in fitness and consumer technology as a vice president and partner at MOTO Development, a product design and technology consulting firm which was acquired by Cisco Systems.
