B. Braun to Launch New Level of Water Treatment Technology at ASN

BETHLEHEM, Pa., Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Braun Medical Inc. (B.Braun) announced today that it will launch the Aquaboss® in-center water treatment system at the American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week 2013 in Atlanta, GA, November 7th-9th. Attendees will be able to visit B.Braun's booth (#131) at the ASN Exposition Hall to see the Aquaboss system and learn how it is the latest advancement in water purification technology.

The Aquaboss water treatment system produces high quality water for dialysis while providing a lower total cost of ownership. Through its innovative features, Aquaboss has up to an 85% raw water conversion rate that conserves water usage, reduces power costs and pre-treatment and maintenance of equipment. Full stainless steel construction and heavy duty pumps, valves and motors make Aquaboss a robust system for continuous use with low maintenance requirements. A highlight is the heat-on-demand disinfection of the distribution ring and reverse osmosis system.

"We are proud to be a leading full-system supplier of dialysis products and services, and we are pleased to exclusively offer the Aquaboss in-center water treatment system to our valued customers," said Sam Amory, Vice President, Avitum Division at B.Braun.

B.Braun's Avitum Division does much more than simply distribute top quality dialysis machines, dialyzers and disposables. The dialysis division offers an integrated system composed of perfectly harmonized components. These include a wide range of therapy options, software solutions for optimal and economical dialysis treatment, and full technical service support. Customers benefit from the expertise of an all-round system supplier with comprehensive knowledge and experience of every aspect of the dialysis situation– from research to manufacturing to therapy.

B.Braun is the exclusive distributor of the Aquaboss in-center water treatment system in the U.S., in agreement with Lauer Medical Water Purification. Currently, B.Braun's affiliates have sold and distributed Lauer water treatment systems in various countries all over the world. Lauer is an independent, family-owned company that has been totally focused on dialysis water purification for more than 18 years.
