B. Braun Launches 3L Sterile Water for Irrigation Container
Date:11/4/2013

BETHLEHEM, Pa., Nov. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Braun Medical Inc. (B.Braun), a leader in infusion therapy and pain management, announced today the launch of a new Sterile Water for Irrigation 3L container. This new addition is part of B.Braun's expanding TITAN XL line of large-volume, flexible containers.

"This is the second launch of our growing line of safe, effective and eco-friendly fluid therapy solutions within B.Braun's TITAN XL line," said Rick Williamson, Vice President of Pharmaceutical Marketing at B.Braun. "We recently announced the launch of  TITAN XL 3L 0.9% Sodium Chloride for Irrigation and have plans to further expand our TITAN XL portfolio over the next several months," added Williamson.

B.Braun continues to lead the way in the healthcare industry by impacting the way hospitals evaluate and purchase their products – a true testament to B.Braun's ecological awareness and patient-centric philosophy. With the addition of the new TITAN XL containers, B.Braun will expand its line of solution containers that are not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP or PVC. Exposure to these toxic materials has been a growing concern for healthcare facilities around the world. Studies show that excessive exposure to DEHP can potentially lead to adverse health effects, especially to a patient's liver, kidneys and lungs, as well as their heart rate and blood pressure.[1] More than three decades ago, B.Braun recognized the environmental and patient risks posed by products containing DEHP and PVC. As a result, B.Braun was the first medical device manufacturer to remove these harmful substances from many products and today is the only supplier that offers a full line of solution containers that are not made with DEHP or PVC. B.Braun is keenly focused on continuing to find alternative methods to manufacture safer products such as the TITAN XL irrigation bags.

About TITAN
The TITAN XL containers offer irrigation and coming soon parenteral nutrition solutions for compounding in large-volume, flexible bags. TITAN XL is highly transparent for quick volume monitoring and the innovative, convenient port system allows for easier access. The TITAN XL container is not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP or PVC and is compatible with most drugs. TITAN XL is stored at room temperature. B.Braun will be launching a series of TITAN XL containers for Irrigation and Clinical Nutrition beginning in 2013 and throughout 2014.
