In a talk entitled, "RTLS Technology Appropriateness," Doran will discuss how RTLS technologies work, what hospitals should look for when evaluating systems, and how to leverage and use them appropriately to improve clinical workflow. He also will describe benefits and costs associated with the solutions, which are used to better locate and track equipment, and enhance patient flow, quality of care, patient safety, and cost efficiencies.

The conference, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will be attended by approximately 350 individuals representing all of the VA's Veterans Integrated Service Networks, which are comprised of more than 150 medical centers nationwide. Attendees will include clinical and administrative staff, biomedical engineers, system redesign coordinators, logistics managers and IT personnel.

"The VHA RTLS Conference is one of our industry's most important events," Doran said. "It brings together decision-makers from throughout the VA, which operates one of the two largest healthcare systems in the nation, and I am looking forward to increasing their awareness of how RTLS supports more efficient and cost effective care."
