Awarepoint CEO Jay Deady to Serve as Panelist at IBF's Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit

SAN DIEGO, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Awarepoint Corporation announced today that CEO Jay Deady will participate in a panel at the First Annual Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit on April 14, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at The Intercontinental New York Barclay in New York. Joining Deady on the panel will be Harry Greenspun, M.D., chief medical officer of Dell Healthcare Services and Kaveh Safavi, M.D., vice president and global lead of the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) Healthcare Practice, the global strategic consulting arm of Cisco Systems Inc. Brian Ascher, general partner at Venrock, one of the country's premier venture capital firms, will moderate.

During the panel session titled "The Hospital as Production Center: Holy Grail or Impossible Dream?" he and the other panelists will explore the complex, flawed, and inefficient processes that can put hospitalized patients at risk. Deady will share how hospitals and health systems can leverage health information exchange (HIE), electronic health records (EHRs), clinical decision support, and other health information technologies to improve quality, safety, outcomes, and the cost effectiveness of care. Deady will draw on his more than two decades of experience at some of the country's top healthcare and healthcare information technology (HIT) companies. Since December 2010 he has been the CEO and president at Awarepoint, the market leader in real-time location systems that hospitals use to track and optimize the workflow and utilization of people and equipment.
