Astute Medical, Inc., veranstaltet Symposium aus anlaß des Critical Care Nephrology Kongress

SAN DIEGO, 5. Juni 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Astute Medical, Inc., wird ein Symposium veranstalten, bei dem eine internationale Expertengruppe diskutieren wird, wie die jüngst validierten Biomarker für das AKI-Risiko (Acute Kidney Injury, akutes Nierenversagen) die Versorgung von schwerkranken Patienten auf der Intensivstation verbessern. Das Symposium mit dem Titel „AKI Biomarkers of Risk Assessment: A New Age" (AKI-Biomarker für Risikoeinschätzung: Ein neues Zeitalter) wird im Rahmen des 31. International Vicenza Course on Critical Care Nephrology in Vicenza (Italien) am Dienstag, dem 11. Juni 2013, von 15:00 bis 16:30 Uhr stattfinden.

„Die Inzidenz für akutes Nierenversagen ist ansteigend und wurde jüngst mit akuten und chronischen Erkrankungen sowie mit  bestimmten Arzneimittel und Drogen assoziiert", so Dr. Claudio Ronco , Leiter der Abteilung für Nephrologie am San-Bartolo-Hospital in Vicenza (Italien) . „Bleibt das akute Nierenversagen unerkannt und unbehandelt, kann es zu einer erheblichen Nierenschädigung kommen, die die Lebensqualität beeinträchtigen, das Risiko einer erneuten Einweisung in eine Klinik erhöhen oder gar zum Tode führen kann."
