Marco Costa, M.D., Leiter des Center for Research and Innovation am University Hospitals Case Medical Center und Leiter des Interventional Cardiovascular Center am University Hospitals Case Medical Center, kommentierte diese Daten mit folgenden Worten: „Diese Studie ist eine der ersten Untersuchungen, die den Heilungsverlauf durch hochauflösende OCT-Bildgebung im Längsschnitt und seriell aufzeigt. Diese Ergebnisse, für die mehr als 13.500 Stent-Struts in 30 Patienten analysiert wurden, lassen auf eine ausgezeichnete Gefäßheilung bei MiStent SES bereits vier Monate nach Implantation schließen. Zudem wurde eine gute Gefäßinteraktion bestätigt durch deutlich weniger Neoatherosklerose-Fälle bis zum 18-Monate-Followup gegenüber zurückliegenden Ergebnissen mit anderen Arzneimittel-eluierenden Stents."

Dennis Donohoe, M.D., Chief Medical Advisor bei Micell, fügte hinzu: „Die in dieser Zeitschrift veröffentlichten Studienergebnisse zeigen detailliert die Gefäßheilung beim Menschen nach Implantation eines neuartigen Arzneimittel-eluierenden Stents aus resorbierbarem Polymer auf. Zusammen mit den Daten des Zwei-Jahres-Followup aus den klinischen DESSOLVE-I- und -II-Studien von Micell lassen diese Daten darauf schließen, dass MiStent SES sich durch eine ausgezeichnete Gefäßheilung ohne fortschreitenden späten Lumenverlust auszeichnet."
