Are there HCG diet dangers? US HCG Injections Takes a Look.

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The hcg diet has been around since the 1950's when it was created by Dr Simeons. During that time thousands of people desperate to lose weight have undergone radical transformations due to program. The issue that concerns many doctors is the extreme calorie reduction and what long term affects it may have.

Several older hcg research studies have concluded that the hcg diet is no more or less effective regardless of the hcg is taken or not. The problem with these dubious studies is that there is very little measurement of progress aside from weight. Newer hcg research studies have suggested that there is indeed a big difference in body composition, even if the total weight loss is the same.  The fact is that muscle weighs more than fat and it has been shown that the groups using hcg actually lose more fat and retain more muscle than those that do not.

HCG helps to metabolize fat stores for use in the body. It is created by women who become pregnant to protect both the mother and the child during times of low caloric intake. This is the reason that the hcg shots work to keep you from being ravenously hungry during the program and also helps you to burn fat more rapidly.

HCG drops

The reason why there is still some skepticism about the hcg program is due to the explosion of the hcg drops being sold. Most of these products contain no real hcg and in fact the FDA has issued warnings about over the counter hcg products. There is also very little reliable information that would suggest people using hcg drops experienced the same body composition benefits that users of the hcg injections experienced.
