Ameritox(R) Appoints Jay B. Zimmerman as Chief Operating Officer

BALTIMORE, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ameritox, the U.S. leader in pain medication monitoring solutions, has announced the appointment of Jay B. Zimmerman as Chief Operating Officer. Zimmerman will oversee R&D, infrastructure and expansion initiatives, including driving efficiencies within existing operations, overseeing the development of new technologies, and ensuring process standardization and quality control across all facilities, including the Midland, TX laboratory and the new laboratory opening in Greensboro, NC in 2010. Jay joined Ameritox on September 1, 2009 and will be based at its headquarters in Baltimore, MD.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Zimmerman has managed clinical research programs in a variety of settings. He began his career at Massachusetts General Hospital, the flagship Harvard University Hospital, where he served as Administrative Director in the Center for Imaging and Pharmaceutical Research. Mr. Zimmerman was later appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of WorldCare, Inc., a clinical research organization serving Proctor & Gamble, Hoffmann La Roche, Novartis and other leading pharmaceutical companies.

At Perceptive Informatics, Inc., a subsidiary of the biopharmaceutical services provider PAREXEL International, Jay served as Vice President of the Medical Imaging Division. During his tenure there he oversaw the company's contract research and consulting services for pharmaceutical, bio
