Allied Healthcare Announces Litholyme(TM) -- New CO2 Absorbent Used in Anesthesia
Date:6/17/2010

ST. LOUIS, June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Allied Healthcare Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: AHPI) today announced introduction of Litholyme™, a new premium carbon dioxide absorbent that provides enhanced patient safety over conventional absorbents in anesthesia procedures.

"Litholyme features a patented formulation that eliminates the safety issues commonly associated with conventional carbon dioxide absorbents, yet it has been developed in such a manner that it can be offered at a similar price to conventional or non-premium absorbents," said Jack Dabrowski, senior product manager.

"Other premium carbon dioxide absorbents that exist in the market today also provide increased safety but are much more costly than conventional absorbents, limiting their adoption in hospitals.  We expect that Litholyme's balance of performance, safety and cost will broaden the use of this safer formulation," Dabrowski said.

Allied Healthcare Products, Inc., manufactures a variety of respiratory products used in the healthcare industry in a range of hospital and alternate care settings including sub-acute facilities, home healthcare and emergency medical care.  Allied product lines include respiratory care products, medical gas equipment and emergency medical products.  Allied products are marketed to hospitals, hospital equipment dealers, hospital construction contractors, home healthcare dealers and emergency medical products dealers.
