Acuo Technologies Announces Vendor Neutral Archiving Contract with Fairview Health Services

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --  Acuo Technologies®, the leader in high-performance software and services for intelligent medical image lifecycle management and data migration, announced today that Fairview Health Services has selected the Universal Clinical Platform (UCP3) as the company's new vendor neutral archive solution. UCP3 will replace Fairview's existing PACS archives while providing an enterprise foundation for future on-premise and cloud-based clinical content management.

UCP3 will provide Fairview with access to all imaging data and a comprehensive solution for facility, partner and physician affiliation, while allowing the elimination of redundant and costly imaging archives throughout the health system.  UCP3 supports Fairview's goal of leveraging viable existing PACS technology and infrastructure, while providing a sensible and economical way to replace outdated systems at the appropriate time.

As part of the Fairview implementation, Acuo will consolidate radiology and cardiology images from various PACS in the health system, while continually integrating other imaging systems and non-DICOM content.  The UCP3 will be deployed in preparation of the installation of the replacement radiology PACS.  The UCP3  will allow Fairview the option of deploying only the new PACS front-end modules, saving cost, shortening the time to install, and ensuring the ownership of the medical imaging data, eliminating future migrations.  This solution will provide network physicians with a single location to retrieve clinical content, rather than having to navigate multiple system interfaces and archives. This approach will facilitate an image-enabled EMR to improve physician effectiveness and provide better patient care, while lowering operational costs.
