AVANIR Pharmaceuticals Announces NASDAQ Opening Bell Ceremony

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AVANIR Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVNR) today announced that Keith A. Katkin, AVANIR's President and CEO, together with other members of senior management and the sales management team, will ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. The bell ringing ceremony celebrates the recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of NUEDEXTA™ (dextromethorphan hydrobromide and quinidine sulfate), the first and only treatment for pseudobulbar affect (PBA), a neurologic condition causing involuntary, sudden and frequent episodes of laughing and crying.
