AAPC Reaches 100,000 Members
Date:11/4/2010

SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- AAPC today announced the registration of its 100,000th member, Mrs. Carla Peacock, from Wylie, Texas. Peacock has eleven years experience in health care and works for Fortis in Dallas, Texas, where she audits workers' compensation bills. She was curious about how medical coding played into the overall bills and decided, with the encouragement of her employer, to learn medical coding through Penn Foster, an independent career school. According to Peacock, "Understanding Medical coding will help make sense of what I do every day."

To honor this record-breaking membership, AAPC is awarding Mrs. Peacock with an all expense paid trip to its 2011 National Conference being held April 3-6 in Long Beach, Calif., where she will receive a 100,000th member certificate honoring the occasion. She will also receive a free Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) exam along with a 2011 AAPC webinar subscription to help obtain CEUs.

"This is an exciting new milestone for AAPC and a testament to the contributions we provide to the medical community," said Deborah Grider, President and CEO of AAPC. "Our continued growth expresses the value many physicians and outpatient practices have with our credentialed professionals."
