AAIPharma Announces Promotion Of Dean Shirazi To EVP Of Analytical Laboratories

WILMINGTON, N.C., Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AAIPharma Services Corp. ("AAIPharma"), a leading provider of pharmaceutical product development services, announced today that it has promoted Dean Shirazi, Ph.D. to executive vice president of analytical laboratories.


During his 20 year career at AAIPharma, Dr. Shirazi has helped AAIPharma excel in analytical chemistry and product development, most recently as vice president of analytical development.  With over 50 publications in scientific journals and a reference book in chromatography ("Fundamentals of Preparative and Nonlinear Chromatography, Second Edition"), Dr. Shirazi is a recognized expert in multiple types of liquid chromatography and gas chromatography.  Throughout his tenure, he has hired and trained a significant portion of laboratory personnel at AAIPharma, helping AAIPharma establish its leadership position in analytical chemistry and drug development.  In his new role, Dr. Shirazi will have responsibilities over the Wilmington and Durham analytical laboratories.

Dr. Shirazi received his doctorate in analytical chemistry from Georgetown University. He conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Tennessee as a research associate, and his areas of interest are high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), preparative chromatography, chiral separation and optimization of experimental conditions in chromatography.
