"Regenovo" Cell 3D Printer Showing at 2014 CES

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rather than building up layers of plastic, the bio-printer known as "Regenovo" uses biological material and living cells in the same layering process to create living tissue.

The Regenovo can put different cells and materials into designated places to form complex 3D models. The designed architecture facilitates cell growth, organization and differentiation.

Regenovo's advantages are as follows:

  • It can print high viscosity materials
  • Cell damage rate in the printing process is low
  • The system is suitable for assembling under sterile condition

They said artificial human body parts can be printed for transplant and their next goal is to print artificial livers and kidneys for transplant in about 15 to 20 years.
