Description Thanks to innovative lighting technology, it is now possible to use LEDs (light-emitting diodes) to illuminate demanding environments. One example is in the operating room. Light-emitting diodes have a variety of technical advantages over conventional halogen and gas discharge lamps which include low heat generation, adjustable light characteristics and a nearly unlimited life cycle. Compared to conventional lighting systems, the adaptive light of the new TRUMPF iLED permits better adaptation to individual surgical situations a feature that is unique worldwide and revolutionises the work of the surgeon.
