The WaveScan WaveFront System provides:
|Description|| The WaveScan WaveFront System is an ophthalmic diagnostic instrument that measures the refractive error and wavefront aberrations of the human eye using a Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor. The measurements can be used to determine regular (sphero-cylindrical) refractive errors and irregularities (aberrations) that cause decreased or blurry vision in the human eye. The WaveScan software uses the information to create a custom tailored correction map for the unique characteristics of each individual eye.
The VISX Fourier Wavefront Upgrade, has the ability to capture and treat wavefront information on larger pupil patients and utilize this data for optical zone treatments out to 7mm. Transition zones continue to be adjustable out to 9.5mm. WaveScan utilizes the patients corneal K-values and wavefront measurement to create the optimal corneal shape for each individual, whether it be prolate, oblate, or spherical.
Together, the WaveScan WaveFront System and STAR S4 Excimer Laser System deliver unprecedented levels of measurement accuracy and outstanding treatment precision essential to the CustomVue procedure.
