Vidiera NsPs versatility allows the use of a variety of primary tube sizes and the platform can output to a wide range of labware formats. The systems software provides flexible results reporting types and security levels. Predefined, editable protocols automate extraction, quantitation, normalization and reaction set-ups, while user-defined protocols accommodate home-brew extraction applications.

Through an agreement with QIAGEN GmbH, Beckman Coulter will offer custom QIAamp** extraction reagents for the reliable and efficient purification of viral nucleic acids from serum and plasma samples, as well as genomic DNA from blood samples. Beckman Coulter has validated these chemistries, along with specific labware, for use on the Vidiera NsP to offer customers a total solution.

The Vidiera NsP platform and reagents are ideal for both virology and pathology applications and can be integrated with Beckman Coulters new Vidiera NsD Nucleic Sample Detection System. The platform is currently available only in the United States and will be marketed to laboratories identified as high-complexity under the CLIA regulations.
