  • Description The Laserex Ultra Q is a hospital grade Nd: YAG laser photodisruptor system that provides ophthalmologists with a precise, reliable means for performing posterior capsulotomy, iridotomy and pupillary membranectomy. The system can be used for the treatment of secondary cataracts or opacification of the capsule (posterior capsulotomy), and closed-angle glaucoma (iridotomy).
The Ultra Q is Laserexs flagship YAG laser, with its fully integrated Nd: YAG laser photodisruptor and in-built motorised stand. The systems integrated slit lamp design continues the Laserex tradition of leading edge integrated laser products. The unique slimline design and true ergonomics provide the benefits of ease of use coupled with patient-friendly features to fit all sizes. The Ultra Q provides more patient leg room, greater height adjustment range and an outboard chinrest all in the one package.
The Ultra Q produces a 1064 nm wavelength treatment laser from a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser cavity located in the systems laser head housing. The major feature of the Ultra Q is its improved efficiency in producing tissue disruption. The systems lower air breakdown energy means that less energy is required to generate the same amount of disruption on the target tissue. This lower level of air breakdown energy dramatically reduces the incidence of IOL pitting; and this is especially important for silicone IOLs, which have a lower damage threshold.
The Laserex Ultra Q is available in a Total Mobile stand or Total Access stand (wheelchair-accessible) configuration. Both stands are motorised for easy table height adjustment.
