    • Description Before TOPscan Dispensers used to only have two choices for finishing. The first choice was to process the completed job at a wholesale lab, which meant longer delay to deliver the order. The alternative was to finish the order in house, but that meant a substantial investment when additional offices required another edger, lens inventory, more space and employee training. TOPscan Remote Tracing Software captures the Frame, Data, provided by the high-accuracy of the FR-20M Frame Reader (UP to 4,000 Individual Points Per Frame). It stores the frame data along with the patient's prescription, including the lenses selection, coatings, tint and other specifications into the computer and then transfers the order via a telephone line to a central lab. Once all of the information is entered, the operator can send a job one at a time or batch process to the host terminal, or central edging lab. The Job Summary Screen records the jobs current status. At the lab, the system receives all the information required to process the job and prints a work order with the barcode reader. When the lenses are ready to edge, an operator simply wands the barcode on the work order and the system will supply the frame data to the ALE-X1 to cut the lenses.
