Description The Surgicutt family of bleeding time devices provides the choice of three sizes: Surgicutt for adults, Surgicutt Jr. for children and Surgicutt Newborn for newborns. The Surgicutt bleeding time family is engineered to perfect the bleeding time test and better control many of the variables that have previously hindered test standardization. The device features a surgical blade that produces a uniform incision, not a puncture, improving reproducibility of test results. The standardized incision depth avoids deep cuts, and assures an incision well above the concentrated pain fibers. In addition, the clean, surgical incision minimizes skin trauma and scarring. The blade permanently retracts after the device is triggered, eliminating potential injury from an exposed, contaminated blade.
