Description The ultrasound A-scan Sonomed-315 is intended for visualization of the anatomic structures of the brain, detection of midline shifts in the brain, evaluation of the brain structure pulsations. Accurate and easy to use, the Sonomed-315 offers quick and reliable detection of brain lesions. A-scanning mode allows to identify the anatomic structures of the brain. A transducer, acting as both transmitter and receiver, is pointed in the direction of interest through the brain, and echoes are detected from interfaces that intersect the beam. The special transmission-mode scanning for measuring of geometrical midline of the brain is used. In this case one transducer on one side of the head transmits an ultrasound pulse, while second transducer, coupled to other side, detects this pulse on completion of a transit through the head. The results of these two scanning modes can be depicted simultaneously.
