ProductsSelecta II Glaucoma Laser System
Company Lumenis Inc.
Item Selecta II Glaucoma Laser System
Features Q-switch produces short pulses of low energy laser light. Selectively targets pigmented cells, increasing fluid outflow. Eliminates burns that scar trabecular meshwork. Economical and efficient, treatment is performed in the physician's office. Provides economic benefits for the patient and physician.
Description The Selecta II Glaucoma Laser System features a patented technique for performing trabeculoplasty in patients with open-angle glaucoma. It selectively targets pigmented cells and increases fluid output, lowering intraocular pressure. The Selecta II is equipped with a Q-switch that produces a 3-nanosecond high-energy beam of light, which induces the same cell replacement mechanism as traditional argon laser therapy (ALT), but without the burn. The short pulse of the laser does not allow time for heat to spread to other cells.
