Features The S-ROM femoral stem is one-piece, wrought titanium alloy, with strength uncompromised by coating. Long length with standard 36mm neck stems, in all diameters, accommodate most revisions and bypass most defects. Only the S-ROM femoral prosthesis allows the surgeon to place the neck version 360 degrees to the most optimal position, enhancing joint stability to help prevent dislocation. The coronal slot reduces bending stiffness and helps to prevent distal fixation, which leads to stress shielding. The distal portion of the cementless femoral stem has flutes, which add up to 1.25mm diameter to the minor diameter of the stem. These flutes cut into the distal cortices of the prepared femoral canal and further increase the rotatory resistance of the assembled femoral prosthesis. The polished distal flutes on the S-ROM femoral stem achieve distal stability without fixation. Testing (with results published) confirms that the S-ROM femoral prosthesis demonstrates adequate fatigue strength and secure locking of the stem and sleeve components.
Description The proximally modular S-ROM Total Hip System provides custom capability at non-custom prices and is competitive with conventional porous coated systems.
