    S/5 Clinical Communications is the newest generation of clinical connectivity solutions that help you and your care team to provide effective, high-quality patient care. You will have access to essential patient information and be able to share it with your care team and specialists, independent of time and location. Clinical communication products include the S/5 iCentral, S/5 Web Viewer and S/5 Pocket Viewer.

    S/5 iCentral offers centralized monitoring, clinical information integration and continuity of data throughout the patient care process. All different types of Datex-Ohmeda monitors are connectable to the S/5 iCentral - from the S/5 Light monitor to the complete, modular S/5 Critical Care Monitor and integrated Anesthesia Care Stations. All data is automatically collected and stored to the S/5 iCentral also from interfaced equipment and systems to form an integrated patient record. When the patient travels through the care process, the full patient history is always available where it is needed - at the bedside and in remote viewing locations.

    S/5 iCentral provides an in-depth view to the patient status through a wide spectrum of clinical information. Patient data is logically grouped to organ-specific views, including both real-time and detailed historical information. Cardiac, Hemodynamic, Ventilation and Neurological views include real-time alarms, waveforms and numerics, and up to 72 hours of trend, event history with snapshots and full-disclosure information for all parameters. With up to 23 stored full disclosure waveforms per patient and other historical information you can get a good understanding of the development of patient condition over the last few days.

    S/5 iCentral provides a comprehensive set of printout options to document the most important data. Any information provided by the S/5 iCentral can also be stored permanently in electronic PDF format to be passed on to HIS, EPR or other storage.

    Open access to other information resources is available through an integrated web browser of the S/5 iCentral. This facilitates access to your web-based solutions like hospital Intranet, laboratory results, medical images, care protocols, medical dictionaries or clinical information systems from the S/5 iCentral.

    The information provided by the S/5 iCentral can be seen remotely through various ways. When at a patient's bedside, you can monitor other patients condition using bed-to-bed communication. With the S/5 Web Viewer and Pocket Viewer, you can access patient information remotely and securely from anywhere within or outside of the hospital, using standard technologies like PC, Tablet PC and wireless personal digital assistant (PDA). S/5 Web Viewer can be used through a wireless, dial-up or Internet connection to view real-time waveforms, numerics, alarms and up to 72 hours of trends for consultation and remote surveillance purposes. S/5 Pocket Viewer provides same information via a wireless, pocket size PDA even through mobile phone connections no matter where you are. In addition to increasing patient safety and quality of care, these products provide cost-effective timesaving tools for clinicians.

    With the Datex-Ohmeda S/5 Clinical Communications products the clinicians can base their decisions on complete data where- and whenever needed.
