ProductsPhoton Laser Phacolysis system
Company Paradigm Medical Industries, Inc.
Item Photon Laser Phacolysis system
Features The Photon's All-in-One System combines laser and Ultrasound--The Best of Both Worlds
  • You can use either Laser or ultrasonic energy, choose and switch at will.
  • Ultrasound provides a backup energy source for Laser cases, and vice versa.
  • The Photon utilizes high performance fluidics common with our U/S platform.
  • The disposable Photon Laser probe uses a standard silicone irrigation sleeve.
The Photon Laser is Unlike Ultrasound Phacoemulsification
  • The contoured probe tip is smooth, elimination sharp edges
  • It has a true cool tip, not relying on irrigation to prevent wound burns
  • The probe tip has multiple functions, including Laser delivery and irrigation and aspiration
  • There is no vibrating ultrasound energy released into the eye
  • All Laser probe can be used through incisions as small as1.0 mm
  • The eye is very quiet during and after Laser cataract extraction
Benefits to the Surgeon and the Patient
  • One hand piece for the entire procedure, including:
  • Lens extraction
  • Cortical cleanup
  • Polishing the capsule
  • Viscoelastic removal
  • Safer to the patient. No trauma to the eye
  • No heat, no corneal burns
  • Smooth tip. Laser cannot cause capsule to rupture
  • Laser wavelength cannot affect capsule
  • Low-cost disposable probe. Convenient, sterile and reliable
  • Easy. Photon Laser technique is easier than U/S Phaco
  • Ergonomic. Probe is designed for easy to use
  • Quiet, smooth, powerful operation
Photon Laser and U/S Phaco Functions Combined in One Platform
  • Enhanced vacuum system is precise at all levels and provides the highest vacuum in the industry
  • Superior post-occusion surge protection
  • 90um U/S Stroke length provides superior cutting-active stroke regulation
  • Dedicated U/S Processor
  • Constant U/S Tuning
  • Modes-on-Demand for instant recall or adjustment
  • High resolution SVGA color monitor
  • Audible prompts
  • Easy to learn
Description The world's first and only Laser Surgical device combining irrigation and aspiration comfortable and precisely. This innovative combination is used for advanced small incision Intraocular Surgery. A Laser phacoemulsification device utilizes a three-function probe that contains fragmentational energy and transmits it directly, and only, at target tissues. The Photon Probe is unlike U/S hand pieces. The probe has no moving parts. By eliminating the vibrating needle, and replacing it with Laser light, the probe brings the cataract to the tip and emulsifies it with a non-cavitating, fully visible "quiet" technique. The Photon Laser creates an ambient temperature increase of less than 1 degree C. Excessive heat is generated at the wound with U/S. The Photon Trap The patented Photon Trap photofragmentation chamber contains the aspiration port, with Laser energy only affecting tissue directly around the port. As a result of the efficient collection of the Laser light, any incidental heat produced by the Laser light is absorbed by the Photon Trap and aspirated out of the surgical site with the irrigation fluid.
