Description A CMV assay for screening donors on the PK7200 Automated Microplate System, the PK CMV-PA System uses CMV antigen attached to a gelatin particle for the detection of cytomegalovirus. Relative sensitivity and specificity of the CMV assay as compared to EIA measures 99.8% and 99.3% respectively. The use of a gelatin particle as the carrier provides excellent lot-to-lot consistency and eliminates false positive reactions due to cross-reactive antibodies to human red cells.
